Robert Smith meted out 27 assists, rarely having to move more than a few feet from the net, as St. Francis’s flawless passing keyed a quick 25-16, 25-14 victory over Glenbard East in the championship game of the Metea Valley Regional.
Greg Churney and Jeff Jendryk each had nine kills and Robert Smith added 21 assists as St. Francis turned back Hinsdale Central 25-21, 25-18, and 6-2 junior middle Adam Eboli set the tone for Glenbard East with five kills and five blocks in the Rams’ 25-17, 25-19 win over Metea Valley.

Completely healthy for the first time since her freshman season, Meghan Marias won the 100 meters and ran on two first-place relays as Lincoln-Way East successfully defended its title in dominant fashion with 72 points Saturday in the Class 3A state finals at O’Brien Stadium.
No one will question Naperville North’s ability to make life difficult on opponents with a myriad of offensive weapons that make the whole greater than the sum of its parts. But defensively is where the Huskies took command in s 53-32 victory on Friday over Glenbard East in Naperville.
For the second time in less than a month, Naperville North rallied from a double-digit deficit in the second half to knock off Glenbard East 38-35, with sophomore guard Laurel Pereira scoring the game-winning points in both games.
