Tony Smith will return to the Homewood-Flossmoor bench next season after the District 233 school board reversed an April decision not to extend Smith a teaching contract for the 2014-15 school year on Tuesday.
The District 233 school board on Tuesday reversed its April decision not to renew Tony Smith’s contract as a health and driver’s education teacher. He has been hired back as a teacher for the 2014-2015 school year.
Amid the Lincoln-Way East state qualifiers at the Class 3A Homewood-Flossmoor Sectional, where the Griffins put themselves in position to chase another state title, H-F’s Jayla Stewart still stood out.
