Despite heavy south winds that meant for a rough finish for the running events, local athletes still had positive showing Saturday at the Homewood-Flossmoor Invitational. Rich South’s Ninaa Edwards won the triple jump and finished second in both hurdles races.
When Rich South’s Denzel Kimbrough drained a three-pointer with four seconds left, it appeared the game was headed to OT. But Thornwood’s Chelby Frazier demanded the inbounds pass, raced past a few defenders and flicked in the game-winning layup as time expired.
