Elk Grove ended Larkin’s season quickly Monday in the Westminster Regional, 25-8, 25-13. Rolling Meadows won 25-21, 14-25, 25-16 a successful Streamwood team. Palatine scored an easy 25-8, 25-16 win over Westminster.
Rolling Meadows guard Jackie Kemph has won 97 games and scored more than 2,000 points in her career. The 5-6 senior can now add Sun-Times Girls Basketball Player of the Year to her list of accomplishments.
Alexis Glasgow overcame a protective mask, as well as a poor shooting name to lead Rolling Meadows to a 51-43 win over Geneva in a Class 4A semifinal Friday. The Mustangs advance to play for a state title for the second consecutive year.
Alexis Glasgow, a 5-foot-11 Northwestern recruit, scored five of Rolling Meadows’ nine points in overtime and Jackie Kemph made two free throws with 11.7 seconds remaining as the Mustangs defeated Fremd 57-53 at the Class 4A Barrington Sectional.
