Chris Covington's seven touchdowns fuel Raby victory

Raby's Chris Covington was clicking on all cylinders Saturday. The senior quarterback threw four touchdown passes, rushed for two touchdowns and scored on an interception return as the Raiders beat Westinghouse 48-3.

THE SKINNY

Raby coach D'Angelo Dereef said his team is beginning to play the way he envisioned it would for the past three years. Quarterback Chris Covington accounted for seven touchdowns and the Raiders scored on their first three possessions to pull away for the Land of Lincoln victory. 
 
TURNING POINT

With his team leading 12-3, Covington recovered a fumble on defense, and on the next play  connected with Travis Powell for a 55-yard touchdown pass to extend the advantage to 18-3.
 
THE STAR

Covington's huge day included four touchdown passes, two rushing touchdowns, and an interception return for a score.
 
BY THE NUMBERS

Covington finished 7-for-18 for 196 yards and had seven carries for 101 yards. 
 
QUOTABLE

"I am just glad to do my part and be a part of a special team," Covington said.
