Hot second-half start propels Uplift to win

Uplift held Warren scoreless for the first 10:23 of the second half and went on a 25-0 run as it overcame a 35-29 deficit to win 61-45 on the second day of the Mundelein tournament.

THE SKINNY: Down 35-29 at halftime, Uplift (2-0) from Chicago held Warren (1-1) scoreless for 10:23 and scored 25 straight points en route to a 61-45 win in the Mundelein tourney.

TURNING POINT: Senior point guard Quintin Olagbegi scored 10 of his team-high 19 points during 25-0 stretch. Warren’s Eric Gillespie ended the run with a free throw and then scored on a layup to give the Blue Devils their first field goal in 11:50.

THE STAR: Olagbegi had 4 rebounds and 4 steals to go with his 19 points.

BY THE NUMBERS: Warren was 13-of-38 from the field, including 5-of-22 from behind the arc, and had 22 rebounds and 14 turnovers. Gillespie had 24 points on 7-of-11 from the field. Uplift was 21-of-51 from the field, 1-of-10 from 3-point range, and had 32 rebounds and 9 turnovers.
