Chicagoland Jewish 82, North Shore Country Day 61
The Tigers have gotten off to a fast start this season, going undefeated through four games in the Chicago Prep League. Thursday night, they hosted a nonconference game against North Shore Country Day (2-5, 0-3 ISL). Using a full-court, trapping press, the Tigers (6-1, 4-0) seized control early and never relinquished the lead after the opening minutes.
After the Raiders cut the lead to 53-43 with 1:15 to go, Tigers senior center Nathaniel Moses scored a layup. On North Shore Country Day’s ensuing possession, Moses blocked a shot by Raiders guard Matt Morette (19 points). Chicagoland Jewish junior Josh Newlander followed with a 3-pointer, closing out the quarter with a 5-0 Tigers run.
Josh Silverman. The senior guard is a streaky shooter, and he was on Thursday night, draining 3-of-4 three-point shots to lead the Tigers with 19 points. Senior guard Avidan Halivni added 15 points. Senior forward Ian Meyer led the Raiders with 24 points.
