THE STAR

Evan Schomer (game high 19 points) scored from in close and from three as Newark (14-7, 6-0) solved the Timberwolves’ man defense. Garrett Post led Indian Creek (11-6, 5-1) with 16 points.

BY THE NUMBERS

In support of Schomer, Eike and Will Clausel each had 14 points, Jack Clausel had 10, and Grant Riehle-Moeller nine. Newark was effective from long range at 4-of-9, but Indian Creek struggled with 3-of-15.

QUOTABLE

“We were trying to keep it out of the middle as they have two big guys able to score on just about anybody. We found a play or two that were getting us to the basket for open shots, and we kept using them.” — Newark’s Evan Schomer
