THE SKINNY

Libertyville never led by more than nine points during its 54-48 division win at Warren Friday night. It was the fifth straight loss for the Blue Devils.

TURNING POINT

The Wildcats (12-10, 4-7 NSC Lake) led by a point with just under three minutes to play, then finished the game on a 6-1 run.

THE STAR

Four players tallied double-figure point totals for Libertyville, headed by senior guard Jack Lipp's 13 points and seven assists. Teammates Johnny Vernasco (11 points), Conor Peterson (10 points) and Steven Braun (10 points) combined to score 16 of their team's 19 second-quarter points.

BY THE NUMBERS

Warren (14-14, 4-8) dropped to the .500 mark due in large part to poor shooting. The Blue Devils finished 20-for-59 from the field (33.8 percent) and 6-for-15 from the free throw line. It's the fifth game in a row they've shot below 35 percent from the floor. Gregory Swane (game-high 18 points), Eric Gillespie (15 points) and Adrian Deere (14 points) accounted for all but one of Warren's 48 points.

QUOTABLE

"We're not looking to play spoiler to anybody the rest of the way. We think we can play with anyone if we play the way we're capable of playing." — Libertyville's Matt Reed
