Rob Valentin breaks down boys tennis teams, players in the area.

Top 5 Boys Tennis teams

1. Jacobs — The Golden Eagles are a young team but are a threat to finish in the top ten at state. Leading the way is No. 1 singles player Kailash Panchapakesan.
 
2. St. Charles North — The North Stars get a big boost thanks to a transfer from Kentucky, Aaron Amburgey, who will team with Grant Spellman on a potent No. 1 doubles team.
 
3. St. Charles East — Michigan State-bound senior Jasper Koenen is the only returning state qualifier for the North Stars, who won the Geneva Sectional and finished 11th at state last year.
 
4. South Elgin — Senior Andre Norasith was second in conference last year and is closing in on 100 wins in his career. Senior Aayush Patel also returns after competing at state last year.
 
5. Hampshire — The Whip-Purs return three state qualifiers from last year in Elisha Hougland (singles), Jake Dahlberg and Chad West (doubles). Hougland was also the Fox Valley singles champ.
