Bill Harrison’s three things to know

Check out Bill Harrison’s three things to know here.

1. Tinley Park sophomore Annalisse Scott can shut teams down. Earning a spot on the Sun-Times preseason Top 100 isn’t an easy accomplishment, especially for a pitcher who is in her first year of being the ace on her staff. Scott proved she is more than worthy after pitching 31 consecutive scoreless innings last week. The streak ended in the third inning against Lincoln-Way West on Saturday.

2. Wauconda sophomore Kayla Wedl not too bad either. Wedl, also a preseason Top 100 player, has been dominant with her arm and her bat. She is currently 6-0 with a 0.52 ERA, including 64 strikeouts and just one walk. She is batting .633 with 19 hits, three home runs and 18 RBI, and has yet to strike out. She recorded wins over Crystal Lake Central and Zion-Benton last week as her team improved to 9-0.

3. Benet might be capable of breaking the state team home run record. The Redwings are on pace to break Trinity’s team home run record of 60 set last season. Through 10 games the No. 3 Redwings (9-1) have hit 20 home runs, including 12 last week when they went 4-1. Marissa Panko, Julianne Rurka, Emily York, and Steph Abello each have four home runs.
