Mike Clark lists three things we should know after another week of girls track and field action, including Glenbard West's Madeline Perez returning from injury to defend her Class 3A state titles in the 1,600 and 3,200.

1. Madeline Perez is back on the track. The defending Class 3A champ in the 1,600 and 3,200 meters, sidelined since the indoor season by a leg injury, made her outdoor debut at the West Suburban Silver meet and took third in the 1,600 at 5 minutes, 4.19 seconds. She also ran the anchor leg on the Hilltoppers' runner-up 3,200 relay team.

2. Emma Spagnola and West Aurora left the DuPage Valley Conference on a high note. The Blackhawks, who move to the Upstate Eight next season, won their final DVC meet thanks to another big night for Spagnola. She won both hurdles, the 100 and the long jump to finish with 15 conference titles in her four-year varsity career.

3. Who's the best team in the Mid-Suburban League? Too close to call. At last week's conference meet, Barrington scored 140 points to edge Prospect (137.5) and Palatine (136). Barrington and Palatine will meet again this week in the Class 3A Lake Zurich Sectional, while Prospect heads to Wheaton Warrenville South.
