JCA is accepting nominations for its newly-created Hall of Champions, which will recognize athletes, coaches and contributors from the current Joliet Catholic Academy as well its predecessor schools: De La Salle, Joliet Catholic High School and St. Francis Academy.

Joliet Catholic will honor its rich athletic heritage with a newly-created Hall of Champions, the school announced.

The Hall will recognize athletes, coaches and contributors from the current Joliet Catholic Academy, which was formed in 1990, as well its predecessor schools: De La Salle (1920-33), Joliet Catholic High School (1933-89) and St. Francis Academy (1869-1989).

Athletes must be graduates of one of the schools and meet at least six of 10 criteria listed on the Joliet Catholic Academy website. There also is a list of standards for coaches and contributors.

Nominations may be emailed to Joliet Catholic athletic director Dan Sharp at dsharp@jca-online.org.

The first induction class will be announced in June and will be honored at halftime of the Hilltoppers' football opener vs. Providence at Joliet's Memorial Stadium on Friday, Aug. 29.
