Unfamiliar foes no match for mighty Zion-Benton at Northside Invite

Although Zion-Benton had only played one of the five other teams entering Saturday afternoon's Northside Invitational, the Zee-Bees walked away with an 5-0 record and the tournament title.

  • Mundelein and Vernon Hills squared off in a competitive volleyball match which also served as a “Playing for a Cure” event, with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. Mundelein's Ian Turkulka, who has been an inspiration to his teammates, is currently being treated for a brain tumor.
