Kevin Kucera scored 13 points, including the game-winning layup with four seconds remaining to lift No. 8 Loyola to a 60-59 victory over No. 11 St. Viator in the final game of the War on the Shore Shootout Saturday in Wilmette.
Hot-shooting Jack Morrissey put on a clinic in No. 11 Loyola’s sweep of St. Rita and Leo last week. He shot a combined 11-for-19 on three-pointers in the two games, and for his accomplishments is the Sun-Times Athlete of the Week.
Jack Morrissey scored a game-high 18 points on six three-pointers to lead No. 15 Loyola to a 70-51 victory against host Leo on Friday in a Catholic North contest. The Ramblers drained 12 threes in the game.
The wind chill and low temperatures were less than ideal for lacrosse in May but Loyola (11-3) and Hinsdale Central (8-2) toughed it out as the Ramblers walked away with a 9-4 win in Glenview Thursday.
