Galarce, who graduated from Lake Zurich in May, was the first person to score a 300 at the five-day United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships U20 Division competition in Buffalo, New York.

While Oswego’s boys bowling team wasn’t able to achieve its goal of a top 5 finish at the state finals Saturday, it still had a productive finish. The Panthers’ overall pinfall of 12,142 was good for 10th place, 965 pins behind state champion Rockford Guildford.
Oswego achieved its goal — barely — of qualifying for the second day of the boys bowling state finals at St. Clair Bowl in O’Fallon by tying St. Patrick for 11th place with a pinfall of 6,160 as the field was cut from 24 teams to 12.
