Galarce, who graduated from Lake Zurich in May, was the first person to score a 300 at the five-day United States Bowling Congress Junior Gold Championships U20 Division competition in Buffalo, New York.
Jacobs junior Brandon Biondo cemented his place in school history Saturday by finishing second at the boys bowling state finals at St. Clair Bowl in O’Fallon. He averaged 239.8 over 12 games to finish with a pinfall of 2,878.
While Oswego’s boys bowling team wasn’t able to achieve its goal of a top 5 finish at the state finals Saturday, it still had a productive finish. The Panthers’ overall pinfall of 12,142 was good for 10th place, 965 pins behind state champion Rockford Guildford.
Lyons has only had a varsity bowling program for four years, but Mike and Robert Kicmal will not let that hold the Lions back from making a run at the state title. Last Saturday the Kicmal's led Lyons to its first sectional title.
